

Rocket League has hit a major stride in 2020. Major front menu changes will occur along with more streamlined teaching tools as the developer expects a whole new group of players to try the game once the free-to-play change occurs, possibly breaking the peak player count record set earlier this year.

The news isn't surprising as free-to-play games on both consoles haven't required an online subscription for some time but Xbox One owners are currently out of luck due to Microsoft's policies on multiplayer games requiring a Gold subscription.Īnnounced in July, developer Psyonix's push for free-to-play isn't the only big change coming to the popular multiplayer game.
